Tribal Print & Mint with Pink Slate Boutique

See Your True Colors Top c/o Pink Slate Boutique- Only $21.60 with code JENNAV20 ((SHOP HERE))

I LOVE tribal print! More than half of my closet consists of the tribal trend...tanks, tops, skirts, dresses...OH MY! I love it all and I find myself being drawn to it each time I shop. When I received this top in the mail from Pink Slate Boutique, I was OBSESSED. I loved the overall tribal print and the colors that were incorporated...especially mint! It is SUPER soft and features a hi low hem! The name of this top is too cute...it's called "See Your True Colors" and that's exactly what it is...full of beautiful colors! Since this top has so much POP all on its own, I decided to keep the rest of the outfit fairly neutral. I went with my "go to" favorite white jeans from Old Navy ((SIMILAR HERE)) that have slight distressing. I rolled them once to create more of a "summer" look. I am definitely the type of girl that wears jeans in the summer...even in Arizona...even when it's 110+ degrees outside. I'm crazy, I know :) For shoes, I put on my new adorable wedges that I just purchased last night from TJ Maxx. They are by BCBG and they were on sale, so I couldn't pass them up ((SHOP HERE)). I added my Ralph Lauren tote bag that I also purchased at TJ Maxx...it was on sale too and it also happens to match my shoes #winwin ((SIMILAR HERE)).

Last, but certainly not least, it was time to add JEWELRY. I happened to have some Pink Slate Boutique pieces, that went perfectly!

Kerra Delicate Bracelet in Mint- Only $9.60 with code JENNAV20
Kerenza Studs in Mint- Only $9.60 with code JENNAV20 ((SHOP HERE))

Both of these items are so feminine and delicate which is the perfect addition to this outfit! I love that they are my favorite color and match wonderfully with the mint in this top.

Thanks for reading and don't forget to check out Pink Slate Boutique! Use my code: JENNAV20 for 20% OFF your ENTIRE purchase!

Until Next Time,

Making a Statement Featuring Pink Slate Boutique

I have been shopping with Pink Slate Boutique since March and I can definitely say I am hooked! I'm hooked on their products. I'm hooked on their quality. And above all, I'm hooked on the way they treat their customers. The customer service they provide for each and every person that "likes" their page on Facebook, comments on their pictures on Instagram, or emails them with sizing questions is treated like their best friend. Sunny and Amber, the owners of Pink Slate, have created such an amazing online shopping experience it is no wonder that they have fans across the U.S. If you'd like to read more information about Pink Slate and how they got started, ((CLICK HERE))
Endless Adoration Maxi- Only $33.60 with code JENNAV20 ((SHOP HERE!!))
Crystal Clear Necklace- Only $14.40 with code JENNAV20 ((SHOP HERE!!))

As mentioned above, one of the reasons I am "hooked" on Pink Slate Boutique has to do with their quality products. When I received the Endless Adoration Maxi Dress, I was in complete and utter awe. This dress was beyond gorgeous and the quality was out of this world!  It is the statement dress of all statement dresses! This partially lined mint, black, and white maxi dress keeps you covered, while being light and airy even on those hot summer nights. It features a peach tie that accentuates your waist and adds a pop of color. The mixed chevron and geometric print adds a fun and flirty dimension to the dress. I love the fact that it is strapless and doesn't slip because of the comfortable elastic band! As a bonus feature, it is LONGGGG! I'm 5'8" and wearing 4" wedges...it's the perfect length!! If you are on the shorter side, it's the type of dress that you could get hemmed without it costing too much or losing the shape of the dress.

Since this dress makes quite the statement all on it's own, I decided to keep the accessories to a minimum. I added black wedges from Target ((SHOP HERE)), my own silver jewelry from Lia Sophia ((SHOP HERE)), and then of course I needed some awesome BLING for my neck!
I immediately reached for my Crystal Clear necklace that also comes from Pink Slate Boutique! It was the perfect addition! I love the navy cord necklace with crystal clusters that remind me of beautiful crystallized flowers. It will definitely be my "go-to" necklace for summer!

NOW FOR A SPECIAL SURPRISE!!! Pink Slate loves all of my readers SO MUCH! They are offering YOU a special discount code for your next purchase! Receive 20% OFF your ENTIRE purchase with code: JENNAV20!  What are you waiting you for? ((SHOP NOW!!)) Don't forget to comment below and let me know what you got! I would love to hear!!

Be YOU.

So as many of you know, I deleted my Instagram a while back and now created a new one. I took a social media pause not only with my Instagram, but also with blogging. For those of you that know me, you know that I enjoy sharing things about my life...whether it be through photos, writing, verbally, etc. You probably also know that when you do such things, you open yourself up to criticism, pessimistic people, and sometimes even bullying. All three things happened to me, which in turn led to my social media pause.

The other day I was thinking...why am I letting people who I have never even met in real life control my life? Taking pictures through Instagram and blogging are two of my favorite "me" activities. Why am I letting those people determine if I do them or not?  Once thinking it over, I decided that other people WILL NOT determine what I do in life. Especially people who I don't even know. That's when I chose to pick back up blogging and Instagram. Since being back, I'm happy. I'm back to enjoying the little things that help me unwind after a long day. I'm not going to waste my time on such negativity in my life. If people are going to dislike me, that's their prerogative, not my problem.  Today I came across this quote that I've seen and read a few times before. I love it. I really feel like it speaks to this situation.
I have so many people in my life who love me and support me. Why am I concerning myself with those people that don't? The answer is, I no longer will. My son and husband are my two biggest supporters. As long as they are by my side, my heart is full. I also have an amazing family, extended family, and tons of friends who love and care about my well-being. That's ALL that matters. Literally.

So the next time someone doubts you, disappoints you, talks about you, makes you feel less than what you're worth...ignore them. They are those people who don't matter. Instead, focus on those that do.

Until Next Time

J.

My May Bella Box UN-BOXED!

Hello Everyone!! This is now my second month receiving Nobella Grace's Bella Box! The Bella Box is Nobella Grace Boutique's styling service! To find out more information, please visit www.nobellagrace.com and click on the Bella Box tab where everything will be explained to you! You can also go back and read my April Bella Box post where I explained everything in detail about signing up!

For the month of May, I went ahead and ordered the petite box again. It is $50 with free shipping and includes two items valued between $75-$100! I received my order today and quickly opened it up! I don't normally like surprises, but these boxes are seriously SO fun!! I immediately loved what I saw and had to style them and take pictures! Hope you enjoy!!

Here is the first item I received! A very fun, colorful chevron print dress with solid black shoulders. I styled this dress with black leggings, black flats with gold studs, and white/gold Kate Spade jewelry. I will wear this outfit to church when the weather isn't so hot! I left my hair naturally wavy and pulled it back with a bobby pin. This outfit is easy and classic while looking put together. Exactly what all moms want and need!

Below are up close photos of the jewelry I am wearing. All items were purchased from the Kate Spade Outlet:

The second item is seriously a summer staple: an oversized tank! Especially for those of you that live in Arizona, tank tops are needed in the months of May, June, and July! It was already supposed to hit 100 degrees today, so I immediately wanted to wear it! The arm holes are larger, so I paired it with a white bandeau underneath. It has adorable aztec detail across the shoulders and down the back. I added my new white destroyed denim from Old Navy (only $19!! SCORE!!) I rolled up the bottoms twice to make them into capris. Next, I added my favorite Steve Madden cognac sandals with gold detail to complete the look. I got them for only $15 on sale at TJ Maxx. I LOVE sales!!

I kept my jewelry simple with a gold necklace/earring set from Teale Boutique. It is no longer available, but be sure to check out the cute accessories at www.shopteale.com. If you find anything you like, use my rep code: JENNAREP for 15% off your entire purchase!

I can't wait for June's Bella Box! This is definitely a styling service I will be keeping up! Thanks Nobella Grace!

Until Next Time,
xoxo

Spring Cleaning: Organizing Your Closet!

Spring is here and that means...SPRING CLEANING! Seriously, I think people think I am cuckoo for cocoa puffs, but I LOVE to clean. I'm so not the type of person that holds onto things I don't use. I am the "purge" type of person. If something is just sitting there collecting dust, it's out of there.

My favorite place to organize/clean is my closet! I think it's because I'm super obsessed with my clothing, accessories, and shoes! I find myself organizing/cleaning out my closet daily. That's why I post multiple items for sale each day. A lot of people are like "Why are you selling that?" My most common answer is "I don't wear it anymore." or "I bought it and never wore it." It's not that I don't like it anymore. Maybe I bought it for a specific occasion or maybe it doesn't fit anymore. Whatever the case, I'm not going to use up prime closet space for things I don't wear.  Here are a few tips on how I get my closet to stay in tip top shape!

  1. Remove any and all emotional attachment from your clothing, shoes, and accessories. They are things, not people. If you become too attached, you will never get rid of anything and hold on to everything. Don't be surprised when you find yourself looking at items that are 10+ years old...or even worse on the next episode of "Hoarders". Not pretty you guys...let those items GO.
  2. Organize your closet by type of clothing: Spaghetti straps, tank tops, short sleeve tops, 3/4 length tops, long sleeve tops, vests, sweaters, cardigans, short skirts, maxi skirts,  strapless dresses, spaghetti strap dresses, tank dresses, short sleeve dresses, 3/4 sleeve dresses, long sleeve dresses. <- This is how my closet is organized. I keep leggings, undergarments, camis, and jeans all folded in my dresser.
  3. Now that your closet is organized by type of clothing it will be easier to look through it and decide what you DO NOT need. I go through my closet section by section and purge any and all items that have one or more of the following criteria: 1. Haven't worn in 1 or more years. 2. Don't fit correctly. 3. Aren't flattering to my body. 4. Too similar to another item I have. 5. Won't wear again (most likely a special occasion item).
  4. Have THREE bags ready for these items to go into. Bag One: Sell, Bag Two: Garage Sale, and Bag Three: Donate. You can also have a bag for items that need to be stored. I don't like storing my items. I like all items to be available at all times.
  5. BAG ONE: Items should go into this bag if they are brand new, worn once, or like new condition. If you sell these items, you will want to price them accordingly. For example: If you are going to sell a maxi dress (originally $48) and it is brand new, take 75% of the original price, so you could sell that brand new maxi dress for $36. If the same maxi dress was worn once, you can sell it for 50% of the original price, so you could sell for $24. If it is "like new" condition, you can sell it for 40% of the original price, so you could sell it for $19. Now of course items vary and so do the conditions of items. Always be open to negotiations :)
  6. BAG TWO: Garage Sale. Items should go into this bag if you would like to sell them, but you don't mind getting only a few dollars for them. They are normally well loved items that people who frequent garage sales will appreciate. For example, your old favorite tank top, workout pants that you really put to work, jeans that are pretty worn in, etc. As soon as items are going into this bag, you will want to start planning WHEN your garage sale will be. Don't just put together a bag for it and let it collect dust.
  7. BAG THREE: Items should go into this bag if you'd like to donate to a local shelter. Make sure you do research before you donate. A lot of places that accept donations have listed on their website what they need. Make sure the items aren't falling apart and still have some use in them. Also it's important to make sure the items are going to a good cause and not just to resell.
  8. Last, but not least...a final rule I have for myself since I shop...A LOT. For every item I buy, an item must come out. For example, if I buy 6 new items, 6 old items must come out of my closet. I'm pretty good at sticking to this rule, but sometimes it can be hard. It also makes you reevaluate the purchase you are about to make. Do you really need that item? Do you have anything similar? Look at your closet before you buy new things. Just because it's a good price or on sale doesn't mean you need to buy it. But sometimes you do...like 60% off sales...those are REALLY good and don't happen too often. Just kidding...sorta.
Feel free to leave comments about any closet trouble you're having...I'd love to help!

Until next time
xoxo,
J.
